My Sister Jodie

My Sister Jodie
by Jacqueline Wilson.

A great book for anyone who has had an older sister, or been an older sister themselves. Jodie and Pearl are two sisters, who couldn't be more different. Jodie is loud and confident, whilst Pearl is quiet and studious. The story focuses on their move to a new school and how each sister copes with the change. Pearl adores her big sister, but can she stand by Jodie when she gets herself into trouble?

Hannah, the Brownie Book Club Editor thinks this...

I love reading Jacqueline Wilson books. Maybe it's because I'm a big kid at heart, or maybe it's because Jacqueline Wilson manages to secretly appeal to all ages. I'm a big sister, so I can relate to Jodie in this book. She was definitely my favourite character. I loved the way that Jacqueline Wilson described Jodie's unique hairstyles and clothing choices. The ending has a surprise twist, I won't spoil it by telling you what it is but it makes the story stand out in my head. Excellent! Every Brownie-aged girl should read this!

Jenny, aged nine thinks this...

It's fantastic it's the best book I've ever read. I definitely recommend it. My fave characters are Jodie and Pearl. I liked Jodie because she's a dare devil and I like Pearl because she's kind. It's a bit sad at the end though.

I read this book and as I was reading it I felt like I was inside the story. It is a very interesting book that you cant put down once you've picked it up. I love reading Jacqueline Wilson books; they really inspire me. But this book is a real fave. It has an unexpected ending which I found emotionally sad, but I'm not going spoil the ending for you too much! I'd recommend it from aged 9 or 10. it's fantastic, 5 star!
